Terrion Arnold continues to make a big impact for Alabama, and he has shined under DC Kevin Steele during the 2023 season. During a recent interview, Arnold admitted the two have a solid relationship, and the defensive back even has a great impression of his DC.

According to Arnold, he and Steele hit it off right out of the gate, and part of Arnold’s impression includes Steele’s nickname for the DB.

“My relationship with Coach Steele, I mean coach Steele when he first came in, we hit it right off the bat and we’re pretty tight,” said Arnold. “So he calls — he doesn’t say Terrion. He calls me ‘T-Arn. T-Arn, how you doing baby?’ Man coach, I’m doing good man, how are you doing? ‘Everything’s going good with me man, I’m just ready to see you go out there and put it all on tape.'”

Arnold went on to say that the defensive coordinator also saves some extra passion for when he gets in front of the team. That includes a vein that can get popping on Steele’s forehead when he gets fired.

“He told me a story about how you can’t let someone just come in and take over your territory basically. So Coach Saban preached the whole week as far as external stuff that goes into the game, we can’t focus on that,” explained Arnold. “The field’s going to be 53 yards wide, 100 yards long, everybody knows that.

“So, Coach Steele started off like that… Then he just starts with like ‘Man, sometimes you’ve gotta find your why!… what motivates you?!’ It just keeps going and then he’s got this vein that starts coming out.”

While the impression is humorous, Alabama continues to improve and round into form as we hit the stretch in November. We’ll see how far this Crimson Tide team fares down the stretch, but things are clicking right now.
