Star Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa won’t be eligible for the NFL Draft until 2020, but that doesn’t mean NFL teams can’t dream about him.
On Friday, ESPN draft expert Todd McShay joined “The Dan Patrick Show” and talked about where he thinks Tagovailoa would be drafted if he was entered in the 2019 draft.
According to McShay, Tagovailoa wouldn’t be the first player taken this year, but he’d be the first quarterback off the board:
DP: Where would Tua Tagovailoa be drafted if he were eligible for this Draft?
Todd McShay: First round … I can't say he'd be the first pick overall. The Giants are projected at 6 or 7…. I think he'd be the first quarterback taken. It would probably be the Giants.— Andrew Perloff (@andrewperloff) December 7, 2018
The Giants are desperate for a quarterback to replace Eli Manning, so they’ll probably have to pull the trigger on someone else this April.
However, there are sure to be plenty more QB-needy teams when the 2020 NFL Draft rolls around.
