Tom Hanks stayed in character while speaking at an even at the World War II Museum in New Orleans on Friday.

Hanks famously played the main character in the movie Forrest Gump, who has a brief stint with Alabama football. The actor took a jab at LSU’s chances of beating Alabama in Tuscaloosa on Sunday.

You can take the actor out of Forrest Gump, but you can’t take Forrest Gump out of the actor.

“Hope, faith, and collective effort may even lead to LSU beating Alabama tomorrow,” said Hanks. “If that can happen, ladies and gentlemen, we can accomplish anything.”

It’s a rare feat to see Alabama lose in Bryant-Denny Stadium. Texas beat the Crimson Tide at home earlier this season, which doesn’t happen very often.

The high-powered LSU offense faces off against the Alabama defense. LSU averages 552.9 yards per game, which leads the SEC. Alabama is third in the SEC when it comes to yards allowed per game (306.4).
