Top 2017 QB prospect set to enroll at Alabama
While the Jalen Hurts era has just started, Alabama appears to have secured another quarterback for perhaps its next dynasty.
2017 QB commitment Tua Tagovailoa tweeted this message on Thursday evening:
Signed, sealed, delivered.. This will wrap up my recruiting process. Thank you to all. To God be all the Glory and #RollTide pic.twitter.com/jbb6lKxgCO

This is significant for a number of reasons. Tagovailoa is regarded as the top quarterback in the country by 247Sports. He possesses an incredibly strong arm to go with terrific mobility. In essence, he’s the prototypical (and ideal) signal-caller in today’s game.
Secondly, Oregon had been sniffing around the Hawaiian native in recent weeks. New head coach Willie Taggart visited the quarterback a day after being hired. However, it was all for naught.
As an early enrollee, Tagovailoa will be able to acclimate to college life at a much quicker pace. He’ll be able to get a head-start on both the academic and social aspects of the university — as well as in terms of learning the scheme and entering the vaunted conditioning program.
With quarterback depth on the roster surprisingly thin, Tagovailoa has a chance to come in right away and be the second-string option behind Hurts.
To all of you fools that said this kid was going to Oregon, better luck next lifetime. Losers. Saban is in the middle of a historic 57 – unlimited game winning streak, and nothing anyone can type can change it.
Alabama is a great team and one of the greatest if not the goat dynasty but you are delusional sir
Are you saying Alabama is incapable of losing? I’ll get on board and say AL is undoubtedly the best team in the nation, but saying they’re incapable of losing is just asinine.
I’m saying that they will not lose this year, 2017, or 2018 and will set the NCAA record at 57 wins in a row. They will extend it even further in 2019 but it’s too hard to predict how many that far out.
To say I am delusional for stating this is a bit off. There is a distinct possibility that Hurts does not lose in college.
While there is a distinct possibility he doesn’t lose, there’s also a distinct possibility he doesn’t win out as well……
So yes you are delusional…..
I am a Bama fan also, but let me just go on record saying that this guy isn’t delusional, he’s nuts. In today’s game, the chances of going undefeated are very slim. It is unbelievably difficult to win a National Championship, and although Bama has been really good (if not great), they have experienced their fair share of lucky turns. Sometimes the stars just line up, or you just experience that perfect storm- who knows? Saban has done a remarkable job of bringing it all together, but to think he can accomplish the impossible is just plain crazy. That’s why some idiots will cry, piss, and moan when we lose two games. Time for a reality check.
Are you kidding me? Bama almost lost to a bad Ole Miss team this year. They are a great team, and probably will continue to be a great team for the next few years but to say they’ll never lose is just dumb. Every team that plays Bama plays them like they’re playing in a national championship game so all it takes is one mediocre game by Bama for them to get upset.
No one will ever break the Sooner’s record, just saying, and I’m a SEC and Razorback fan.
Ok lets be honest he’s a great high school QB and maybe a great college one, but Saban has proven that he will take another 4 or 5 star next year and then the year after that he might also take a grad transfer or just a regular transfer. He will also take any qb worth anything that wants to walk on. All this is saying is that by the time hurst leaves there will be 5 qb’s behind him and there will be open tryouts again like we have seen the past 3 years. I hope this guy does well.
I’m a Bama fan – and I want to go undefeated for 100 games. If I was a LSU fan or Aburn fan, or a fan of any other SEC team that would be my goal as well – but Saturday’s in the South are just never going to allow this. It seems s a proven fact we all go up . . We come down. I just enjoy the ride when it goes our way. . . and love me team just the same when it don’t. I enjoy teasing our opponents – but I always realize – I better be ready . . . Cause it sure can come back the other way . . . And that’s OK – cause it will flip again . . . Roll Tide . . . SEC
