Despite what Nick Saban may tell you, his starting quarterback won’t be 100 percent for the Orange Bowl showdown against Oklahoma.

Tua Tagovailoa himself confirmed that on Wednesday during Alabama’s most recent media availability. Alabama’s starting QB was asked to grade his recovery from ankle surgery and he was quite honest regarding his recovery.

“It’s been a lot better,” Tagovailoa said. “To grade it on a scale of zero to 100. I’d probably say it’s at 80-85 percent today.”

If you missed it over the holiday break, ESPN released a video detailing Tua’s exact injury, his surgery and the incredible rehab efforts he’s put in to be able to return to the field in time for the Orange Bowl.

Alabama and Oklahoma are set to meet in Miami on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.
