The Alabama Crimson Tide are having themselves a day against Arkansas State, leading the Red Wolves at halftime by a lopsided score of 40-0. That was the expected result, but it’s still fun to see the Tide clicking on offense.

Starting QB Tua Tagovailoa has been on fire in the first half, throwing for 175 yards and three touchdowns, including several beautiful throws.

As you can see below, Tagovailoa finds an open Jerry Jeudy for a long 58-yard score:

In one of the more-surprising developments of the day, backup QB Jalen Hurts played, seemingly indicating that he won’t redshirt this year.

After a fumble on his first drive, though, he completed six of his first seven passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns. One of them went to Jeudy on a great throw under pressure:

The only downside to the hot start for the Tide has been kicking extra points. Austin Jones was only 1-for-3 before getting replaced by Joseph Bulovas, who made all three of his first-half tries.

The other score came via a pick-six, courtesy of DB Saivion Smith.

The Tide will likely take their feet off the gas pedal a little bit in the second half with the game well in hand, but expect the defense to continue gunning for a shutout.
