Where would Tua Tagovailoa rank in this year’s NFL Draft class? What about last year’s class, which included Cleveland Browns standout Baker Mayfield?

If Trent Dilfer is to believed, Tua would rank above all the prospects from the last two NFL Draft classes. That gives further evidence to believe the “Tank for Tua” hype may be very real come next NFL season.

During a recent appearance on the “Rich Eisen Show,” Dilfer, the former head of the Elite 11 program when Tagovailoa went through it, was asked to share his opinion of Tua as a QB prospect spanning the last two NFL Draft classes.

“No. 1. He’s the finest prospect I’ve ever seen in my life,” Dilfer answered.

He went on to compare two quarterbacks to Tua and noted that while Alabama’s signal caller is elite, he isn’t the perfect prospect. Not yet, anyway.

“I’ve never seen, besides Dan Marino and Aaron Rodgers to this day, throw a ball better than Tua. He checks all the other intangible boxes,” Dilfer continued. “He has a thick body, thick joints. He needs to learn to play on timing better. He does have the Superman complex where he thinks he can make a play out of every play like Cam Newton, I think that can be trained out of him. I know we trained it out of him in one summer.”
