Twitter reactions are all over the place following Lane Kiffin's departure from Alabama
Who saw this one coming? Alabama dropped a bombshell on the college football world Monday, announcing offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin would move on from the program effective immediately before the Tide even play Clemson in the title game.
With Kiffin out, head coach Nick Saban has promoted Steve Sarkisian from his offensive analyst role a game early and into the offensive coordinator position for the championship game.
While the news was shocking to many, Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports apparently saw the move coming:
Not shocked Nick Saban has made this move now.. Heard there was LOTS of drama inside the #Alabama program with Lane Kiffin in the past week.

While many others in the media poked fun at the fact Kiffin’s odd coaching career has taken another strange turn:
How Kiffin left his last 4 jobs: called a liar by Al Davis; riots at Tennessee; fired at LAX airport; fired before national title game.

Lane Kiffin departures:
*Al Davis slide show in Oak
*Press conf circus at UT
*Left at airport at USC
*Booted before nat’l title game at Bama— David Hale (@DavidHaleESPN) January 2, 2017
Hopefully Lane Kiffin was an in interesting place when Nick Saban fired him. The tarmac thing was getting stale.

Considering these comments, it’s a marvel the relationship between Saban and Kiffin lasted this long:
Paul Finebaum: "I was with Nick Saban after the game Saturday, he looked distraught. Looked as distracted as I've seen him in a long time."

Read into this however you want, but I can guarantee you Nick Saban gives 0 percent about Florida Atlantic and its 2017 season.

That Alabama and Nick Saban made this work with Lane Kiffin for three years will always be shocking to me. So many distractions.

Some are suggestings this move could work in Alabama’s favor against Clemson:
So if you're Clemson, how do you prepare to face Alabama with a new offensive coordinator?

*PLOT TWIST* Clemson doesnt know how Sark will call the game. They have no film to study. No tendencies to rely on.

This may be the most brilliant take of them all – we can hope, can’t we?
Please, ESPN, get Lane Kiffin to call the national title game on the Megacast film room
