Alabama has faced some offensive line struggles in the first half of the season.

The Tide are giving up sacks at a rate that is unusual for them and it’s holding them back from looking like an elite team.

On Monday, Alabama offensive lineman Tyler Booker joined The Next Round to talk about some of Alabama’s struggles on the offensive line as well as what needs to change.

“There’s a lot of guys on offensive line that are still getting some of their first starts, some of their first major reps,” Booker said. “And they just have to figure out how to really embrace the moment, take a deep breath and be like, ‘OK I’m here, time to perform.’ But all those guys have improved a lot and they just have to continue to improve, we all do.”

One of the biggest question marks has ben at left tackle. Alabama hasn’t found a consistent answer there, but Booker believes they are finding their footing and learning as the season goes on.

“The thing that’s very encouraging about those guys, they know what they did wrong,” Booker said. “Now it’s just time to prevent it from happening and just being more technically sound.”

Alabama’s offensive line will need to step up on Saturday as it takes on Tennessee, which has an elite defensive line.
