Najee Harris is one of the most talked about players entering the 2020 season. The former No. 2 overall player in the class of 2017, Harris has a chance to have a huge season and become a high pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

In 3 career seasons at Alabama, Harris has rushed for nearly 2,400 yards and 20 touchdowns. The California native enjoyed a breakout season in 2019, but he hasn’t been overworked during his college career. There’s still plenty of tread still left on the tires.

Former USC running back Reggie Bush recently compared Harris to “a more athletic” Derrick Henry.

“I like Najee Harris because he’s the most complete running back out of all these backs we just listed,” Bush said. “When I turn on the film and I watched this guy, he reminds me of a more athletic Derrick Henry. And if you think about that, that’s absolutely scary because this man is 6-2, about 230 pounds.

“…I think if he plays well enough, I think he can win the Heisman Trophy. He’s playing on one of the best teams, he’s gonna have great coaching, is gonna be surrounded by great talent, and they love to run a football. He fits perfectly into that Alabama running back style.”

Henry was a workhorse for Alabama, totaling 602 total carries in the Tide’s offense in just 3 seasons. Harris may exceed that barring injury — he’s at 387 entering the season, but it won’t be by much.

Henry, of course, was dominant for the Tide and is currently having a huge NFL career. Is Harris that type of player? A “more athletic Derrick Henry” really is a scary comparison by Reggie Bush.
