Lane Kiffin entered Neyland Stadium to the sound of cheering Alabama fans hailing coaches and players getting off the team bus.

He’ll probably hear nothing but boos for the rest of the afternoon.

Kiffin, now in his third year as the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator, is making his second trip back to Tennessee after coaching the Volunteers for just one season (2009). He went 7-6 with a 4-4 mark in SEC play before bolting for the USC job, an abrupt departure that drew the ire of Tennessee fans.

Kiffin is 2-0 against his former team and will look to make it three in a row today. No. 1 Alabama (6-0, 3-0) will take on the No. 9 Volunteers (5-1, 2-1) at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.

He took a stroll around Neyland Stadium about an hour and a half before the game still wearing headphones.
