It didn’t take long for reporters to question Alabama coach Nick Saban on Tuesday about the Paul Finebaum report linking Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller to a possible transfer later this summer.

Saban was gracious in his response and after first deflecting the rumor and declining to go in-depth about ‘players on other teams’, he did say the Crimson Tide had a few roster openings if the move was mutually beneficial for both parties.

He never mentioned Miller or a specified position.

“If there was somebody out there that I thought could help our team, we have a spot or two available that we could probably … but it would have to be the right person in the right place that could make a contribution because that would be something that would have to be good for that person and it would have to be good for us,” Saban said to AL.com.
