Vinnie Sunseri is returning to his college home.

The former Alabama defensive back announced his return to Tuscaloosa on Thursday with a photo from campus and the message, “New Chapter… Same school” captioned with the photo.

According to Charlie Potter of 247Sports, Sunseri will serve as a graduate assistant for Nick Saban’s Alabama coaching staff next season. Sunseri is the son of former Alabama assistant coach Sal Sunseri, who currently coaches the defensive line for Dan Mullen at Florida.

During his time at Alabama, Sunseri registered 105 total tackles, four interceptions, 1.5 sacks and helped the Crimson Tide win one SEC Championship title and two BCS National Championship titles. He played safety for the program from 2011-2013.

After leaving school early, Sunseri was selected by the New Orleans in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He would go on to play for the Patriots and the 49ers during his NFL playing career.
