The Washington Commanders released a tasteless statement including Brian Robinson Jr. in response to the D.C. Attorney General Karl A. Racine’s upcoming “major announcement” regarding the organization scheduled for Thursday.

The Attorney General is investigating owner Dan Snyder and the organization for issues that have been present since the summer of 2020, when former team employees said they were being sexually harassed.

Robinson Jr., a former Alabama running back, has nothing to do with the investigation. The Commanders rookie was shot multiple times a few months ago, but has since made a full recovery.

The team released a statement addressing the Attorney General’s upcoming statements while using Robinson’s situation to soften the blow, saying the Attorney General should be focusing on “bringing to justice the people who shot one of our players.”

Here is the statement in full.

Obviously, this is a poor look for the Commanders. Robinson Jr.’s agent sounded off on Twitter Wednesday following the release.
