Based on a recent report from AL.com regarding the near-hire of Hugh Freeze at Alabama, it appears the SEC wants to keep the former Ole Miss coach in timeout.

Considering all-powerful Nick Saban wished to hire Freeze in Tuscaloosa but ultimately decided against the move at the behest of the league office, it’s clear the Southeastern Conference is not prepared to welcome Freeze back with arms wide open at this point. According to the AL.com report, Missouri and LSU were also interested in Freeze along with two other SEC programs — Jeremy Pruitt’s Tennessee program has been rumored to be among those two programs.

During a recent appearance on ESPN’s Outside the Lines, Paul Finebaum offered up his thoughts on the Freeze-Alabama saga.
