Tua Tagovailoa tweaked his injured knee during Saturday’s win over Tennessee, but everything appears to be fine.

Alabama coach Nick Saban said Tagovailoa is fine and that he could have gone back into the game, had he needed to. And Tagovailoa said after the victory that his knee is better now than it was last week.

According to Tagovailoa, somebody stepped on his leg during a play, which led to the aggravation.

“My knee, it just buckled, that was it,” Tagovailoa told the media. “I was fine.”

It appears to not be a major concern for Tagovailoa, and Alabama is entering its bye week, which will give the sophomore quarterback some time to rest before playing LSU on Nov. 3.

Before Tagovailoa exited, he had another impressive showing. He passed for 306 yards and four touchdowns. Tagovailoa has thrown 25 touchdowns and no interceptions during the Crimson Tide’s 8-0 start.

Tagovailoa credits his performance to all the playmakers around him.

“I’m very confident,” Tagovailoa said. “But it makes it more fun, I think there’s so much more fun when you don’t only have one person to go to, when you have guys at running back that can make plays for you as well. This is just fun out here.”
