Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa has dealt with a knee injury over a few weeks. He took a nasty shot to that area late in the third quarter against Mississippi State Saturday.

The CBS broadcast updated that the hit did not impact Tagovailoa’s injured knee. The shot he took on the hit was to his quads. It is the injury to the quads that is keeping him sidelined.

With Alabama leading Mississippi State 21-0 in the fourth quarter, most fans are more concerned about Tagovailoa’s status for coming games, including the SEC Championship Game against Georgia, than the remaining quarter.

In the first possession of the fourth quarter, Mac Jones came in at quarterback. Jalen Hurts is also injured and did not throw during warmups.
