The No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide whooped the No. 13 Texas A&M Aggies 52-24 Saturday.

Tide quarterback Mac Jones had a huge day, connecting on 20-of-27 passes for 435 yards and 4 touchdowns. Receivers John Metchie III caught 2 touchdowns, while Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith caught 1 each.

Nick Saban’s defense contained the Aggies’ offense and forced 2 turnovers. Texas A&M had chances to get back into the game, but it couldn’t connect on numerous opportunities.

Jimbo Fisher spoke to the media following the game, and here’s what he said about Alabama:

  • “Alabama has a very good football team. They did a great job. We needed to match some scores and had opportunities to do it. … We didn’t do it.
  • “The big thing on offense, Alabama did a great job hitting big plays. They did a really good job backed up in situations, and we got to get that fixed. We’ll continue to work on that.”
  • “Alabama only punted twice. We didn’t get much on that.”
  • “Alabama did a great job in giving the quarterback time to run the double moves. … They found the one-on-one matchups over the top and hit them.”
  • “When you’re a freshman (cornerback) playing against (Alabama’s) good wideouts, it’s a good baptism (into SEC football).”
  • “When you (Alabama) have dynamic guys to catch the football and you get protection, it’s a great combination.”
