The Alabama Crimson Tide have yet to lose a game started by QB Tua Tagovailoa, so the sophomore from Hawaii isn’t used to handling defeat.

So, when he was beaten out by Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray for the Heisman on Saturday night, it was a rare loss for Tagovailoa.

However, he handled it well, being gracious in defeat. Shortly after the ceremony, he congratulated his fellow finalists and thanked fans and his family:

Tagovailoa will be back in action next season, as he is still a year away from being eligible for the NFL Draft.

He’s the favorite to win the 2019 Heisman already, and after losing it this year, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a motivated Tagovailoa leave no doubt in voters’ minds next season.
