Cam Skattebo for Heisman? Fans lay into award after superb Peach Bowl performance

Cam Skattebo is getting some Heisman buzz, despite the fact that the award was handed out a few weeks ago.
The Arizona State running back put the team on his back during the Big 12 championship game, and he did it again on Wednesday during the Peach Bowl against Texas. Skattebo threw for a touchdown, rushed for a touchdown and hauled in a 63-yard touchdown reception to get the Sun Devils back into the game, despite trailing 24-8 with less than 10 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter.
Now, with the game heading to overtime, Skattebo is going to have a chance to lead his team to the national semifinals. Whether or not he can do it is only slightly relevant: Skattebo has earned his flowers today, and he’s causing quite the storm online.
Fans on social media came to his defense during the late stages of the game. After not even being named a Heisman finalist, some fans want to retroactively give Skattebo the award instead of Colorado’s Travis Hunter.
