Arkansas came into Saturday’s game on a six-game losing streak. Sam Pittman had not won an SEC game before kickoff Saturday as the Razorbacks were 2-6.

Florida came into Week 10 at 5-3 after losing to Georgia in its last game back in Jacksonville. With both teams coming off losses something had to give at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Florida and Arkansas headed to overtime in Gainesville as both fans were having anxiety. Arkansas eventually won 39-36 in overtime for its first SEC win of the season.

Here are some takeaways from the game:

Arkansas blows 14-0 lead

The Razorbacks got off to a great start against Florida, going up 14-0 in the first quarter. The lead didn’t last long as Florida quickly tied things up before the second quarter.

Fans of these teams may need some professional help after this game. The lead went back and forth as it looked like this game was headed for overtime after the early Arkansas lead.

Turnovers a problem for both teams

Neither team played a clean game as turnovers were an issue for both. Florida coughed up the ball as Ricky Pearsall had the football ripped out of his hands.

Arkansas then turned the ball over to Florida within the same quarter as K.J. Jefferson threw an interception after firing a pass into double coverage.

The Razorbacks also lost a fumble as A.J. Green coughed up the football during the second half.

KJ Jefferson delivers huge game in OT win

K.J. Jefferson did what he’s done many times for Arkansas during his career, make plays with his arm and legs.

Winning in The Swamp is no easy task and Jefferson had one of his best games of the season to earn Arkansas’ first SEC win of the season.

Jefferson had 255 yards passing with 2 touchdowns and also had 92 yards on the ground with a rushing touchdown.

Arkansas will need to win the remainder of its games this season in order for it to reach a bowl game. If Jefferson keeps playing like this to end the regular season, Arkansas may have a chance of doing that.

The Hogs head back home to take on Auburn next.
