Arkansas unleashed a new wrinkle this spring with backup QB Malik Hornsby at wide receiver, and by all indications, the move has received rave reviews.

Coach Sam Pittman discussed the move with an earlier interview on Tuesday, and reporters also saw Hornsby in his new role at practice. Putting Hornsby and KJ Jefferson on the field at the same time will put a lot of stress on defenses.

It also appears to be a popular move in the locker room, as RB A.J. Green and DB Khari Johnson explained.

“I’m just glad to see he’s willing to do anything to help the team,” Green said. “Try to get some wins, get in the end zone a little bit for us, so I’m excited to see what he can do.”

Johnson calls Hornsby the Swiss Army Knife.

“He’s got speed of a top caliber skill player,” Johnson said. “I’m just excited for him … wherever we put him in this offense. He’s an explosive talent.”
