Eric Musselman has a new scholarship to work with at Arkansas as the Razorbacks have released Akol Mawein from his National Letter of Intent.
Mawein signed with Arkansas back in November but recently requested his release from the program and the Razorbacks complied, according to JucoRecruiting.com.
The 6-foot-10, Mawein was rated as the nation’s No. 5 junior college prospect in the 2021 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He signed with Arkansas out of Navarro College in Texas.
Following this news, Arkansas now has three new players entering the program this offseason as high school guard Chance Moore is being joined by Pitt transfer Au’Diese Toney and Miami transfer Chris Lykes.
With Mawein leaving, look for the Razorbacks to add another big man to the class.
