Arkansas AD Jeff Long is still trying to move on from the Razorbacks loss to TCU.

Long and head coach Bret Bielema have had a tough week as Hogs fans have vented their frustrations regarding the team. A petition was even started by one fan to bring in Mike Leach to replace Bielema.

Long made an appearance on Monday at the Little Rock Touchdown Club, and some of his comments did not sit well with the fanbase.

One fan, in particular, noted that Long’s claim of Arkansas not being a “win at all cost” program would not go over well. Long responded to the fan Tuesday evening in order to make sure his point was clear:

It should be noted that Long was the AD who brought in coach Bobby Petrino in 2008. Long later fired Petrino in 2012 following Petrino’s motorcycle accident and revealed affair with a former Arkansas volleyball player that was given a position on the football staff by Petrino. The Petrino scandal was an embarrassment for the school and one that Long certainly remembers.

Arkansas is 1-1 on the season after losing to TCU at home. It is still wildly premature to panic about this season, but the Hogs did suffer a bad defeat Saturday. The Hogs will open SEC play on Sept. 23 against Texas A&M.

Hopefully, Bielema can make something positive out of this season. Either way, Long wants fans to know it is not “win at all cost” at Arkansas.
