Arkansas AD reveals Razorback DC Barry Odom's decision on 2021
Arkansas defensive coordinator Barry Odom is one of the key names linked to the initial staff of Steve Sarkisian at Texas.
It appears that Razorbacks fans won’t have anything to worry about, though.
The always social media-present athletic director of Arkansas, Hunter Yurachek, appeared to announce Odom’s final decision the only way possible:
Hey @CoachSamPittman, did we get some great news today regarding @Coach_Odom? #OneRazorback #RunItBack pic.twitter.com/ewEE6VfwrA
— Hunter Yurachek (@HunterYurachek) January 5, 2021
That’s certainly “great news” as the former Missouri head coach was well-liked by Razorbacks players during his first year with the program. And it all but confirms reports from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that Odom, along with Jamil Walker, the strength and conditioning coach, would indeed return.
While there’s been no official announcement from Sam Pittman, Odom himself or the Arkansas football program, with Yurachek’s tweet, that’s basically confirmation in and of itself. And, to borrow a familiar slogan among those in the program these days, Odom appears ready to “run it back” in 2021.
Best Arky video yet. Nothing more perfect than having a Mizzou helmet… hangin’ over their heads.
Glad you liked it! But as we all know Odom is a pitiful head coach, right?
I don’t think he was pitiful, there are a lot who do, but when you consider the situation he stepped into, the debacle that Pinkel left, Rhodes not able to find a coach because everyone could see he already had one foot out the door, many coaches would have done much worse. Odom has a bulldog mentality and that’s what it took at the time. As far as x’s and o’s he was good, but some of his original staff wasn’t and he made some bad choices there. He recruited about as good as Pinkel, recruited StL better than Pinkel and had zero kids transfer after the BS NCAA sanctions. He lost games, but never lost his locker room and left Mizzou with a much more solid culture and sense of “team” than what was there when he was hired. That’s for sure. He’s basically the Cuonzo Martin of football coaches in a lot of respects. Cuonzo will never recruit at elite level and he will probably never win a championship, but he’s a solid guy who will always have a solid, but not great program.
I guess you forgot the locker room shuffle? H lost the team down the stretch at the end of last year. He couldn’t recruit top St. Louis players due to being blocked out from St. Louis high school HCs. After he was fired along with the President and s few others. St. Louis high school HCs and ESL HC announced to open to communication with Mizzou again after the firing of Odom and President and few others. How do you explained that? Drinkwitz have done a lot better and will only get better when he gets his new DC. That should help the defense against good passing offense teams.
Except he did recruit STL good, Boone, Maclin, Cook, Heismeyer. And actually lost Jalen St. John after he was fired, who followed Odom to Arkansas. There is nothing in your entire comment that is actually accurate.

ZOU!
Booches, it looks sad when you make multiple profiles to agree with yourself.
I got called out once by one of the Mizzou posters for not sticking to my Bama site. Now looka here.
