Arkansas and Auburn combine for an embarrassing 3 interceptions in 26 seconds
Arkansas and Auburn haven’t played the best football through the first two quarters of the game, and that sloppiness got particularly bad when the Razorbacks and the Tigers combined for 3 interceptions in just 26 seconds.
The exchange as the second quarter was winding down got started when Auburn quarterback Hank Brown threw a pick to Razorbacks defender Jayden Johnson.
That was followed up by a Taylen Green interception on a tipped pass that went into the hands of Auburn defensive back Sylvester Smith. The back-and-forth affair did not end there, though, on what has been a horrible day for Hank Brown and the Tigers offensively.
Brown tossed yet another interception before halftime, this one going to Arkansas defensive back TJ Metcalf. Here’s a look at those plays:

The quarterbacks on both sides have put together unimpressive days statistically to this point, as Brown has completed 7 of his 13 passing attempts for 72 yards and 3 interceptions. We’ve now seen Payton Thorne come into the game for Auburn, connecting on 2 of his 5 passing attempts for 11 yards.
For Arkansas, Green has completed 9 of 17 passes for 68 yards and 1 interception.
The Razorbacks lead at the half, 7-0.
Green’s interception was a tipped pass. But not the first time he has overthrown. For one, he had a wide open receiver in the end zone at Okie State and threw it 5-6 feet over his head. Same issues he had at Boise I am told and in spite of all the coaching up he’s had since arriving. But I can only imagine how tough it would be to defend Arkansas if the guy had any control and smarter judgment, even just acceptable. Jefferson should have stuck around but maybe the price tag was too high.
Jefferson burned bridges and had to go… TG will get better and get his issues with release point under control, it’s being worked on. He’s got to get better with his reads, missing too many wide open receivers and Bobby will make sure that happens.
