Last week, ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit called for Arkansas to beat Auburn. But this week, Herbstreit reversed course, and picked the Rebels to win the game, along with all of the other pickers on ESPN’s “College GameDay.”

So after the Razorbacks knocked off the Rebels, 33-21, the Arkansas social media team went after Herbstreit for not still believing in the Razorbacks. The Razorbacks built a 20-0 halftime lead and held on for their first SEC home win since 2016.

“Everybody going with Ole Miss,” host Rece Davis said on “College GameDay.” “Sam Pittman, sorry to see that.”

The Razorbacks, though, got the last laugh, thanks to their defense, which forced seven turnovers, including six interceptions. QB Feleipe Franks was 21-for-34 passing for 244 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

It was quite a turnaround for both teams after Arkansas had a gut-wrenching controversial loss last week against Auburn. Meanwhile, Ole Miss rang up more than 600 yards last week in a loss to Alabama. This week was a stark contrast to last week for the Rebels’ offense, which struggled out of the gate, and couldn’t find its rhythm until the second half.

The Razorbacks have a bye week coming up and return to action on Oct. 31 against Texas A&M.
