Arkansas OC Joe Craddock breaks down how Razorbacks will coach up QBs in Chad Morris’ offense
It remains to be seen if Arkansas has a player on the roster capable of handling what exactly Chad Morris and Joe Craddock want to be accomplished at the position. If the Razorbacks don’t have an ideal fit, the main job for those coaches on the field in 2018 will be getting the most out of whichever quarterback is handed the keys to the offense.
So what exactly will this new Arkansas staff ask of their quarterbacks?
Craddock, the team’s new offensive coordinator, made an appearance on Bo Mattingly’s radio show Sports Talk with Bo Friday and discussed that very topic. According to Craddock, playing QB in their system is a ton of fun.

The SMU quarterback Craddock mentioned, Ben Hicks, put up some great numbers over the last two seasons. After throwing for 2,930 yards, 19 touchdowns and 15 interceptions as a redshirt freshman, Hicks threw for 3,569 yards, 33 touchdowns and only 12 interceptions as a sophomore. His completion percentage also went up from 55 percent to 58 during that span.
Considering the success both coaches have had at Clemson and then at SMU, it remains likely that the quarterbacks at Arkansas will see similar progress in Fayetteville. How long before those improvements take may be the only uncertainty at the moment.
