As Arkansas continues to look for a new coach, the Razorbacks lost some depth recently as a redshirt freshman offensive lineman reportedly entered the transfer portal.

Hawg Sports reported that Silas Robinson is looking for a new school. The 6-foot-4, 306-pounder, a one-time 3-star recruit out of Yoakum, Texas. He chose Arkansas over Virginia, Brigham Young, Rice, Army, Texas State. He was rated the No. 160 offensive tackle and No. 267 player in Texas as a recruit, according to his 247Sports profile.

ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg is also reporting the news.

He originally committed to SMU but flipped to Arkansas after Chad Morris was named head coach. He was one of two SMU commits taken by the new Arkansas staff. He played guard and center for the Razorbacks and played in 6 games this season without a start.

In the summer, Hawg Sports reported that “Robinson was capable of playing either guard position, but he worked primarily at center in the spring. He made strides during spring practice despite suffering a minor injury at the end of March.

Robinson has shown flashes of what he could become to the coaching staff, but he is not viewed as a legitimate threat to take over the starting center role from junior Ty Clary next season.”
