Arkansas picks up key transfer commitment from veteran LB out of Cincinnati

Arkansas is working on reloading for the 2023 season, and Sam Pittman’s Razorbacks landed a key transfer piece to the defense Monday afternoon.

The player is Jaheim Thomas, a former 4-star recruit via the 2020 recruiting class who began his career at Cincinnati. After 3 seasons with the Bearcats, Thomas hit the portal and confirmed his commitment to Arkansas on Monday.

Coming out of high school, Thomas was a 4-star recruit and the No. 22 OLB for the 2020 recruiting class per the 247 Sports Composite. He contributed in 3 seasons for the Bearcats, including a career-high 70 tackles, 6.5 TFL and 2 sacks a season ago.

So far this cycle, Arkansas has landed 13 players via transfer, including 7 on the defensive side of the ball. Thomas joins Antonio Grier out of South Florida as linebackers to join the defense via transfer.
