Arkansas quarterback Malachi Singleton is entering the transfer portal, according to a report. The QB was the primary backup to Taylen Green in 2024 and saw action in 5 games this season. The QB will have 3 seasons of eligibility remaining.
Singleton’s best moments in 2024 came against Tennessee. The QB was forced into action after Green suffered an injury and Singleton was able to keep the team afloat. Singleton completed 2-of-3 passes for 31 yards and also rushed 4 times for 15 yards.
The Razorbacks went on to get their signature win of the season, defeating Tennessee 19-14. Singleton also saw action against Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn, and Arkansas Pine-Bluff. In total, the QB completed 21-of-28 passes for 358 yards and 1 TD and rushed for 74 yards with 3 TDs.
Singleton attended North Cobb High School in Kennesaw, GA. Per the 247Sports Composite ranking, Singleton was the No. 26 QB and the No. 39 prospect out of Georgia in the 2023 class. Before committing to Arkansas, Singleton received offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, and others.
Meanwhile, Green impressed as the starter in Fayetteville in 2024. The Boise State transfer completed 60.8% of his passes for 2,813 yards with 13 TDs and 9 INTs. The QB also rushed for 521 yards and 7 TDs.
Green still has eligibility, so the Razorbacks could run it back with their 2024 starter. It will be interesting to see where Singleton ends up.
