Arkansas (2-4, 0-3) will have a tough task to snap a 4-game losing streak when they travel to face No. 11 Alabama (5-1, 3-0) on Saturday.

The Razorbacks haven’t won since defeating Kent State on Sept. 9. Arkansas has followed that up with losses against BYU, LSU, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss.

During an interview with Alabama broadcaster Roger Hoover, the voice of Razorbacks football Chuck Barrett shares the frustration of the stretch. Barrett emphasizes that the loss to BYU is the main 1 that lingers.

“I think the BYU game very honestly is 1 that kind of still sticks in people’s craw. The Razorbacks had chances to beat both LSU and Ole Miss. They were right there at the end,” Barrett said. “Didn’t play so well against A&M. But had chances against LSU and Ole Miss. Kind of shot themselves in the foot. Missed out on perhaps at least a win or 2. I do think it’s the BYU game that kind of set the tone.”

The Arkansas offense has struggled the past couple weeks with a combined 42 points against Texas A&M and Ole Miss. However, Barrett gave praise to the defense for limiting an explosive Ole Miss offense to 27 points.

“To hold them the way they did for at least 3 quarters, I thought was impressive,” Barrett said.

Barrett believes a favorable schedule down the stretch after this weekend’s contest against Alabama could help Arkansas build some positive momentum.

“They just need to find a way to win a game. The good news is the schedule flips after this week and they’ve got 4 of their last 5 at home,” Barrett said. “We knew this was going to be a tough 4-game stretch and it’s turned out to be just that.”

Arkansas at Alabama is slated for a noon EST kickoff and will be televised on ESPN.
