Arkansas will see one of its key offensive contributors enter the transfer portal with 1 year of eligibility remaining.

AJ Green, a running back with the Razorbacks for 3 seasons, announced his intentions on X on Monday afternoon.

“The bonds that I have made with you all are bonds that I will forever cherish,” Green wrote in reference to his teammates.

A former 4-star recruit, Green, a Tulsa, Okla. native, found his place immediately in Fayetteville, rushing for 227 yards and a touchdown as a true freshman in 2021 while being credited with a receiving TD. In 2022, he totaled 87 carries for 414 yards and 3 touchdowns, adding 67 attempts, 312 yards, and 2 scores to his total in 2023 along with a TD through the air.

In 2022, in the Liberty Bowl versus Kansas, he ran for a career-best 101 yards on 13 carries in a 53-51 win. He enjoyed his 1st 2-touchdown game on Sept. 16, part of a 9-carry, 86-yard performance.

Arkansas was 4-8 in 2023. Offensive coordinator Dan Enos was fired 8 games into the season, with the Razorbacks turning to former head coach Bobby Petrino to fill the role.
