After averaging 14.4 points per game last season for Pitt, Au’diese Toney wanted to finish his college career at another school and entered the NCAA transfer portal.

On Thursday, the former Pitt guard and Huntsville, Ala., native announced he would be returning closer to home as the newest member of the Arkansas basketball program.

Toney’s addition to Eric Musselman’s program is apparently official as the Arkansas coach shared his thoughts on the team’s new addition during a Thursday press conference.

“He’s going to be an incredible piece for us moving forward. … I would consider him a positionless player. Those guys are so, so valuable. I’m ecstatic,” Musselman said according to Scottie Bordelon of Arkansas Online.

“He can knock down the 3, he’s a great transition player. Versatile guys in the 6-5 to 6-8 range, they’re valuable. I think he’s a great fit for us, and I think this is a great fit for him as a player as well.”

Toney started all 16 games he appeared in for Pitt last season and comes to Arkansas after 69 total starts for the Panthers.
