Barry Dunning Jr., a former Alabama Mr. Basketball, has announced a transfer destination from Arkansas.

Dunning committed to UAB, and on Instagram wrote, “time to set your heart ablaze.”

The former 4-star recruit from Mobile, Alabama (McGill-Toolen Catholic High School) signed with the Razorbacks over Memphis, Ole Miss and South Alabama. Dunning appeared in 16 games last season, and made 1 start, and averaged 3.2 minutes per game, as he scored a total of 5 points last season, with 2 steals.

Coming out of high school, Dunning was listed at 6-foot-6 and 205 pounds, and ranked as the No. 21 small forward in the country and Alabamaโ€™s top prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

UABโ€™s medical school and new conference โ€“ the American Athletic Conference โ€“ were also factors in his decision, AL.com reported. Dunning also said he chose the Blazers because they believed in him, and it’s closer to home.
