Bobby Petrino is back in Fayetteville this weekend and will likely learn that Arkansas fans have long memories.

It’s been nearly 15 years since Petrino left the Atlanta Falcons high and dry for Arkansas. The 61-year-old coach had great success with the Razorbacks, leading them to consecutive double-digit win seasons and a top-five finish with a Cotton Bowl win in 2011.

Then the motorcycle incident happened and…well it’s best you read that one for yourself.

Now the head coach at FCS Missouri State, Petrino brings the Bears into Arkansas for what will surely be a blowout Razorbacks victory. The likely result won’t shock Petrino one bit or take away from the memories of his time as the head coach at Arkansas.

Brad Crawford of 247Sports has the full report.

“I’m sure there will be some feelings and emotions when I step in the stadium, but it’s really not about me,” Petrino said. “It’s about our football team. We’ve got guys on our football team who have worked extremely hard, people that have been here since I first came…It’s really about our players.”

Oh there will definitely be some feelings, you can expect that for sure.
