Bobby Petrino had an emotional return to Arkansas on Saturday as the Missouri State coach was in Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium as a coach since 2011.

After the loss to Arkansas, after the Bears led for several stretches, Petrino said he was able to keep his emotions in check all night, until walking off the field afterwards. That’s when “it hit him.”

“It was fun, those are guys I battled with before, and won a lot of games with, and they put a lot of sweat and blood, tears on the field, so it was great to see them,” Petrino said of seeing former players.

The Bears led by as much as 17-0, and then 27-17 before Arkansas scored 3 straight touchdowns, including a 73-yard pass from KJ Jefferson to Raheim Sanders that went for a touchdown, and an 82-yard touchdown by Bryce Stephens. Jefferson then tacked on a 1-yard touchdown run to cap the scoring.
