The Broncos are turning over the keys to the offense to Brandon Allen.

Head coach Vick Fangio made the announcement on Monday as Joe Flacco has been ruled out for Denver’s upcoming game against the Browns. Allen, the former Arkansas starting quarterback, has never taken a snap in the NFL.

Despite that inexperience, the Broncos are trusting the former Razorback to get the job done on the field heading into Week 9. While Allen may not have any NFL experience, he can’t be much worse than Flacco, who has gone three games in a row without a touchdown pass for the Broncos.

The Broncos drafted Drew Lock in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft but the rookie signal-caller is currently on injured reserve after suffering a preseason injury.

Allen was selected in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was later signed by the LA Rams before joining the Broncos in the offseason.
