Bret Bielema and the Arkansas Razorbacks are heading into an interesting season.

The Razorbacks must face three top-15 teams inside the SEC West while also going out of conference to play TCU. No one has picked Arkansas to win the SEC West with Alabama and Auburn seemingly destined to battle it out for the top spot, but is it possible that the Hogs could pull off an upset in a few games this season?

Former Vanderbilt QB Jordan Rodgers and former Florida QB Chris Doering hopped on the SEC Network to break down Arkansas’ season. The two had different opinions on a few games for the Razorbacks.

Rodgers sees the TCU game as a must-win for the Hogs.

“I’d point to this TCU one,” said Rodgers. “I think they’re gonna win this game, but this is gonna be one right before that long stretch that they need to win from a momentum and mojo standpoint.”

Nevertheless, Rodgers does not believe Arkansas can pull the upset against Alabama, Auburn, or LSU, and he has the Razorbacks finishing at .500 with a 6-6 record.

Doering has a brighter outlook on the Razorbacks and believes they can take down Texas A&M and Mississippi State.

On Mississippi State:

“This could be a problem for that Arkansas defense,” said Doering, “But I’m betting on Paul Rhoads and that 3-4 scheme. This is the type of offense that was designed to go against.”

Unfortunately, Doering does not have Arkansas with any big upsets, but he does have the Razorbacks finishing with a strong 8-4 record.

The only thing left is to play the games and see if the Hogs can make any noise in the SEC West.
