While there may be better games this weekend in the Southeastern Conference, you could argue that the Arkansas-Auburn showdown on The Plains features the best storyline heading into Week 3.

For obvious reasons, Chad Morris was been front and center all week when discussing this matchup and will remain that way until the game clock strikes zero Saturday night on The Plains.

Many Arkansas fans want a win in this game more than any other this season while Auburn’s offensive coordinator likely wants to show the program that fired him less than two years into his rebuild job in Fayetteville that they made the wrong decision.

In a move many Razorback fans saw coming, Arkansas has already drastically improved on the field two games removed from the Morris’ era on The Hill while Auburn’s offense is coming off a disastrous performance on the road at Georgia.

With Bo Nix now in his second season starting for the Tigers, the quarterback’s progress on the field has been minimal — at best.

If Auburn can’t find a way to beat Arkansas this weekend, Morris may find himself once again on a hot seat early in his tenure at a school.

However, according to Auburn linebacker Owen Pappoe, Morris has been giving the Tigers’ defense tips on Arkansas’ roster this week.

Here is what Pappoe had to say when asked if Morris give Auburn an advantage headed into Saturday’s game.

“Yeah, definitely,” Pappoe said. “He lets us know what kind of players all those guys are so it gives us better insight into who we are playing against.”

That’s a comment Arkansas fans will likely get a chuckle out of heading into the weekend.

We’ll find out soon enough how much of an advantage (or disadvantage) having Morris on staff at Auburn proves to be for the Tigers.
