It’s never easy for a team to lose a player (and leader) like QB Austin Allen, but that’s the position the Arkansas Razorbacks find themselves in this summer.
Rising redshirt sophomore Cole Kelley is widely seen as the favorite to land the job, as he was the top backup last year, receiving plenty of game action when Allen was hurt.
However, on Tuesday, new coach Chad Morris told radio host Bo Mattingly that four quarterbacks — Connor Noland, John Stephen Jones, Ty Storey and Kelley would have a chance at the starting job:
Morris on QB: You look at Connor Noland and John Stephen Jones coming in. These two guys are just winners. That’s all they’ve been. You add them in with Ty and Cole, and we’ve got a great QB battle. Everything is going to count.

That makes this summer an important one for Morris and the Hogs, as they’ll need good play from the quarterback in Morris’s fast-paced offense.
Kelley may be the early favorite, but the gap isn’t exactly a large one heading into the final part of the offseason.
