Dre Greenlaw carted to locker room with Super Bowl injury while jogging onto field
Dre Greenlaw is one of the top defenders for the San Franciso 49ers. Unfortunately, the star linebacker and Arkansas product is likely done for the rest of the Super Bowl after a freak injury.
Following a punt to the Kansas City Chiefs, Greenlaw was ready to jog onto the field with the rest of the San Franciso defense. As he started onto the field, Greenlaw went down quickly and was grabbing his left leg in pain.
He was eventually carted back to the locker room with CBS reporting he was unable to put weight on his left leg while battling emotions:

CBS has since relayed San Francisco’s diagnosis that it is an Achilles injury for Greenlaw. His night is likely done after that scene, a disappointing finish for the former Razorback after finishing second on the 49ers with 120 tackles during the regular season.
As for the rest of the game, San Francisco’s defensive line and pass rushers have kept Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs off-balance in the first half. We’ll see how they adjust moving forward.
