Just how ahead of the curve has Sam Pittman’s Arkansas program been on the recruiting trail since his arrival in Fayetteville?

If completely salvaging the 2020 recruiting class on short notice didn’t impress you, if having a borderline top 25 recruiting class in the 2021 cycle despite the fact the COVID pandemic rages on and the Razorback coaches can’t host prospects or hit the road to recruit following their recent hires in Fayetteville doesn’t impress you, maybe a look at the program’s 2022 class will impress you.

After securing a commitment from South Carolina offensive lineman Eli Henderson on Monday evening, the reigning national champions from Baton Rouge are the only SEC program with more commitments than the Razorbacks in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

Henderson is the third recruit to commit to Arkansas in the 2022 recruiting cycle, joining in-state prospects Dax Courtney (tight end for Dewitt High School) and JJ Hollingsworth (Greenland High School defensive end) as pledges eager to join Pittman’s program.

That pretty much says it all when it comes to the outstanding job Pittman and his staff have done selling their program to recruits across the Southeast in recent months.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Henderson plays for South Carolina prep powerhouse Byrnes High School and is currently rated as an early three-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports. The site lists Henderson as the No. 28 offensive guard prospect in the nation for the 2022 recruiting cycle.

The Duncan, S.C., native currently holds scholarship offers from Georgia (it would appear Pittman has been in contact with this young man for some time) and Arizona State.
