Maybe now every new college basketball job opening in America will stop being connected to Eric Musselman.

Following the Razorbacks’ run to the Elite Eight, Arkansas has stepped up and made Musselman one of the top 10 highest-paid coaches in the country. The run to the Elite Eight was a first for Arkansas since the 1995 season.

Musselman has signed a new five-year contract worth $4 million annually. The new deal runs through April 30, 2026.

“Arkansas is one of the premier programs in the nation and my family and I are ecstatic to be here,” Musselman said in a released statement. “I am grateful for the commitment the University is making to me, my family and the future of our basketball program. I have tremendous pride in being a Razorback and it is an honor to represent the state of Arkansas. Our staff remains focused on winning basketball games and building our roster for the future. We look forward to continuing to build on the foundation we have established in our first two seasons in an effort to achieve even greater success for our program, our University and Razorback fans everywhere.”

In his two seasons with the program, Musselman has led Arkansas to a 45-19 overall record. The team went 25-7 last season and finished second in the SEC standings.
