Eric Musselman throws out the first pitch at San Diego Padres game, crosses off bucket list item
Eric Musselman crossed off at item from his bucket list on Tuesday when he threw out the first pitch at the San Diego Padres game against the Seattle Mariners.
The Arkansas men’s basketball coach attended the University of San Diego in the late 1980s and helped the Toreros to a 24-6 record as a senior and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. During his college career, Musselman was named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic team 3 times and the Toreros played in 2 NCAA Tournaments.
Musselman wrote on Twitter that it was a “once in a lifetime experience! Checked off a bucket list item.” Earlier, he wrote, “Dreams do come true.”
Musselman also previously worked for the Padres in the customer complaint department. Musselman was required to be at every Padres home game, he told Whole Hog Sports in 2020.
“Any complaint, whether it was a parking complaint, whether a firecracker went off in the toilet, if an usher was rude, all of those complaints came to me,” he said. “Then I had to fill out paperwork and send them to different areas about how the problem was going to get rectified.
“I think when you start at the bottom it helps you appreciate everything.”
