ESPN analyst uses hilarious breakup analogy for John Calipari’s return to Kentucky

ESPN analyst Andraya Carter had a unique relationship analogy — and a warning — for John Calipari’s highly anticipated return to Kentucky: Don’t get caught in the club with a downgrade coming out of your breakup.
It’s an interesting way to describe Calipari’s return to Lexington with his Arkansas squad. But it’s hard to view it any other way with the Razorbacks entering Saturday’s game unranked and with a 1-6 mark in SEC play so far.
On the other side, Mark Pope and Kentucky are No. 12 in the country. The Wildcats are also coming off a strong road win over Tennessee this week.
It adds up to Kentucky being a 10-point favorite at home Saturday night per bet365. Fans can check out the best offers with our bet365 Kentucky bonus code.
The only way Carter sees things playing out well for Calipari is if his team can show up and silence the crowd:
“The only thing that’s going to make it feel better is if his team can shut the crowd up. If his team can go out there and perform to a level where the crowd can’t even get into it, but that’s going to be the struggle,” said Carter.
It’s hard to envision a scenario where BBN isn’t going all out ahead of tipoff in an effort to spur Pope’s team to victory. But if Calipari shows up with a team that gets outclassed in a losing effort, it’s a further sign he’s lost the breakup per Carter.
“The worst thing you can do after a breakup is show up to the club with a downgrade… I know you all are happily married men, but you know right? You go through a breakup, then you show up to the bar and your new isn’t as good as your old was, and everyone’s just looking at you like ‘eh’,” portrayed Carter. “You better show up with an upgrade. That’s the only way everyone was quiet.”
