Fans are not particularly impressed with the start of the John Calipari era in Fayetteville.

The Razorbacks had a decent nonconference slate, going 11-2 overall with losses to Baylor and Illinois. But since the start of SEC play, Arkansas has suffered 4 consecutive losses to Tennessee, Ole Miss, Florida and now LSU.

The defeat against LSU on Tuesday night is exceptionally bad news for Arkansas’s NCAA Tournament hopes. The Tigers have been one of the worst SEC teams this season and are not currently on track to make the Big Dance. This was a golden opportunity for Arkansas to pad its conference record, but instead another loss got added to the docket.

After all the excitement and hype that came with Calipari’s hiring last spring, Arkansas is now on the verge of having one of the nation’s most disappointing seasons. It’s mid-January, and Arkansas has just 2 wins over teams ranked in KenPom’s top 100: Michigan and Lipscomb. Arkansas’s third-best win by KenPom ratings came against Troy (116th) back on Nov. 13.

At 0-4 in SEC play, Arkansas is alone in last place in the conference standings. The Razorbacks are 1 of just 4 teams in the league without a conference win.

By any measure, this season has been a big let-down for Arkansas fans so far. Plenty took to social media to express their displeasure after the loss to LSU on Tuesday night. Kentucky fans looking to take a victory lap on Calipari’s downfall also chimed in.

Here’s the best of that reaction:
