Former Arkansas and Georgia defensive back Latavious Brini has signed an NFL contract after landing a post-draft opportunity.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed Brini after he participated in the team’s rookie minicamp over the weekend.

Brini was with the Georgia football program for 5 seasons. He used his extra year of eligibility from the NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver at Arkansas in 2022.

Last season, Brini played in all 13 games for the Razorbacks, making 9 starts. He finished as the team’s 6th-leading tackler, with 55 combined tackles, including 32 solo stops and 4 tackles for loss. Brini also had 2 fumble recoveries, 1 interception and 1 forced fumble in 2022.

After not playing in 2017, Brini made 30 appearances over 4 seasons for the Bulldogs. His most productive season at UGA came in 2021. Brini logged 38 tackles, including 2.5 for loss, and 8 pass breakups, a career-high, helping Georgia win a national championship.

It’s a tall task to make an NFL active roster after going undrafted, but Brini is now on Jacksonville’s 90-man roster. We’ll see how he fares with the Jaguars as the offseason progresses.
