Former Arkansas quarterback Malik Hornsby spent 3 seasons with the Razorbacks football team before entering the transfer portal and landing at Texas State. After 1 season with the Bobcats, though, Hornsby re-entered the transfer portal on Tuesday, according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer.

Hornsby redshirted in 2020 as a 4-star recruit. In 2021, he played in 7 games, completing 5 of his 12 passes and recording 24 carries for 136 yards and a touchdown. He briefly entered the transfer portal in Jan. 2022 but opted to return to the Razorbacks, seeing time in 8 games while totaling 268 yards and a touchdown through the air and 172 yards on the ground on 31 attempts.

He re-entered the transfer portal after the 2022 season and opted this time to join Texas State. In 7 games as a backup to another former SEC quarterback in TJ Finley (LSU, Auburn), he was 8-of-15 for 83 yards and an interception, but had a career-high in rushing yards (229) and rushing touchdowns (6).

Hornsby, of course, can choose to withdraw his name from the portal and decide to remain with Texas State, but it will be interesting to see where his career goes from this point.
