It appears Arkansas will be losing some depth at the tight end position this offseason as redshirt junior Grayson Gunter has reportedly entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

This news was first reported by Matt Zenitz of AL.com. If Gunter does leave Fayetteville, he will likely be eligible immediately next season as a graduate transfer.

It should be noted that when a player enters the NCAA transfer portal, that does not necessarily mean a player won’t return. This move simply allows other programs to contact them regarding a transfer. Players have been known to enter the transfer portal and stay at their school.

Considering former Arkansas tight end coach Barry Lunney Jr. has moved on to UTSA with Jeff Traylor, that program seems like a likely destination for Gunter.

The Arkansas tight end made this comment on Twitter following Lunney’s hire at UTSA:

“Can’t even begin to express how much Coach Lunney means to me and my family. Was the first college coach to recruit me and gave me a chance when not many others did. UTSA is getting a great one.”

In three seasons on the field, Gunter caught 11 passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns for the Razorbacks.
